FAQ – Personal

Therapy is the better choice when dealing with physical, nutritional, emotional or mental health issues. If you are experiencing frustration with the lack of progress or the lack of answers to your current health situation, therapy can provide excellent insight and results. Therapy is also extremely useful as a preventative mechanism to help maintain good health and avoid chronic conditions in the future.

Coaching is the better choice when dealing with changes in career or life circumstances. It is particularly helpful for people going through difficult transitions – a relationship breakup, a retirement or redundancy. Many people are drawn to coaching when they wish to change career, discover a more meaningful way of life, find a new interest or gain greater self-awareness.

Many clients start with kinesiology or cranio-sacral therapy.

The first session includes taking a case history and is used to determine the best treatment plan for you. If we believe that a particular therapy is more suitable for you than the one you initially selected this will be discussed with you. Our aim will always be to devise the most appropriate plan for you.

If you are still unsure where to start, we offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to help you decide.

As the therapy is tailored to your individual needs, there is no set number of sessions recommended. Many clients feel a difference after just one session! However, it is advisable to budget for at least three. Depending on your issue, an individual treatment plan will be discussed with you, giving you a better idea of how many sessions will be best for you. Many clients, once their initial issue is resolved, continue with ‘maintenance’ sessions for preventative care.

A therapy session is one hour long. Sometimes the therapist may recommend a longer session depending on your issue.

Therapy sessions cost €70 per hour. Occasionally special ‘block-booking’ rates are offered.

All of the treatments are gentle and non-intrusive. Some acupressure point or muscle work may cause tenderness, especially if you have sensitivities or a chronic ailment. I will take feedback from you to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. A full case history will be taken at your first session and you will be advised to inform me of any pain or discomfort at the start and during each session.

If the root of your condition/problem is emotional, dealing with this may cause some distress/emotional pain. Please rest assured I will help you overcome these feelings of distress and concentrate on restoring and re-balancing your system.

No. There is no need to undress. It is however, advisable for both kinesiology and cranio-sacral therapy, that you wear loose-fitting clothing so that you are comfortable. This will also allow ease of movement of your limbs. Ladies may prefer to wear trousers or leggings. You may be asked to remove your shoes.

Not necessarily. Many people like to lie down for their sessions as it aids relaxation. However many techniques used in kinesiology can be performed in a sitting or standing position. Cranio-sacral therapy, although best experienced lying down, can be performed in a sitting position. The important thing is that you are comfortable throughout your session. If you have difficulty with mobility or discomfort sitting or lying, please make sure to inform me so I can adapt the session accordingly.
